Introduction
Hi, I’m Shiharu, from the most bestest ever guild ForcedLove, on Paradox server. Dragonrider’s Vale is the most fun PvP mode to me (mainly ‘cuz BF lags too much for me). I wanted to write a simple guide in hopes that more people will play this mode, as well as provide me with something to do in this game. Do note, this is based off my personal experience/opinion, so it may or may not work for you. Please excuse my formatting/English.

Preparation
Although it’s highly unlikely that you’ll pay for stat/skill resets just for DV, but please use whichever stat page has the most CRIT! CRIT is reduced by 90%, but it’s still the best investment because all of your other stats are greatly increased based on which type of mount you’re on. The increase are flat bonus stats, so increasing your base stat does not help.

As for skill points, they’re not very significant except for the CRIT, reflect, or Move SPD buffs.

The best gear set in my opinion is the PvP leather set, followed by PvP plate set. Cloth is pretty much useless compared to the two since you get absurd amount of bonus PEN/ATK from the mount. I personally use 2 piece Primeval leather and 3 piece PvP cloth (since I’m too lazy to move my dragocites around). Just for comparison, if I used my full PvP cloth 5* set vs the 2/3 combination, I lose 10% crit chance on level 50’s.

As for accessories, there are a couple decent choices. They’re sort of listed in order of my preference. Yellow font color is really hard to read, so yellow will now be red!

Neck
Steadfast Amulet/Mediator’s Sigh (ATK SPD) is what I would suggest, unless you have other PvP necklaces already. A bit of ATK SPD will help since mount animations are very long.

Ring
Reckless Ring/Tantrum Ring (Reflect) are probably the best rings for most kinds of PvP. Reflect is important for getting points, however you can also use the Move SPD or Healing rings depending on your playstyle.

Silhouette Cloak/Dragoon’s Cloak (CRIT DMG reduction) is good. Kragg’s Strife (DMG reduction) or even Apostle’s Cloak (5% Move SPD) are also good alternatives.

Trinket
There’s a lot of choices, but the best are probably the PvP trinkets. You can also swap on elemental resistance trinkets if there are a lot of certain elements on the other team (like lots of apes, use fire resist). If you are not using the reflect ring, you should use the reflect trinket.

Best would be Cosmic Warrior Headwear. Good alternatives would be Shatterbone Brawler (Stun for 2s, if you do not use the armor dragocite anyways) or Dragon Stalker (Frost Pool, deals decent damage and also slows).

Bloodwing or Evolved Ronin is the best once people have them. Cosmic Warrior would be good too. Cheaper alternatives would be Plague Assassin (ranged) or Dragon Stalker (melee).

Dragocites
The three most important stats when rolling dragocites are Humanoid DMG/Reduction and Move SPD. You want as much of Humanoid DMG/Reduction as you can get. Move SPD is important for dodging skills, positioning, and chasing people. You don’t need to fully stack it, but it’s good to have a decent amount.
The less important stats are CRIT, CRIT DMG, and Healing (only if you play a healer, obviously).

Weapon Dragocite
BiS would be Primeval Dragocite of Retribution, since it can one shot people if you’re standing at the right spot when it procs. Other decent alternatives would be PvP dragocites or any ranged targeted skill dragocites.

Head Dragocite
I would recommend Gladiator’s Lethal Dragocite (or Eyedim) if you have high CRIT DMG. Otherwise, use the best version of the +100-120% DMG dragocites that you can get.

If you aren’t using Shatterbone Brawler Headwear, then use Gladiator’s Staggering Dragocite (or Torrkus). Other alternatives are the damage reduction when under 50%, or Move SPD reduction on attack.

If you’re on a ranged mount, Stoneray’s Dragocite is the best. If you’re on melee, you can either use Stoneray’s Dragocite or Goulet’s Lustrous Dragocite. Other decent alternatives are Frost Pool, Lightning Pool, and Whirlwind.

Feet Dragocite
The "decrease elemental resistance" dragocites are the best for this slot. Pick the one that matches with the element of your mount’s attacks. If your mount uses physical attacks, then just use any random PvP dragocite; the other bonuses aren’t significant enough to matter.

These 3 types of glyphs and their nonboss mount counterparts are the best. Pick whichever third stat you rather have. You can also choose to add some ATK SPD glyphs as well.

Strategy
To win, your team needs to have more points. Points are based on how much damage you inflict to the enemy before they die. To get the maximum amount of points per kill for your team, everyone needs to have at least hit the enemy once or healed someone who has hit the enemy. That means, don’t tunnel vision on one person for no reason other than just to get a kill (unless they’re really strong and playing a strong AoE mount like Baemon).

Do’s
- Try to hit everyone at least once
- Move around (unless you’re Broot or similar)
- Stay near Broot!
- Stay near your healers! (don’t stack on them though, just be close enough to get healed and protect them)
- Prioritize targets. There are certain high priority targets such as healers or attackers like Baemon. And there are low priority targets such as Beakis… although they’re "easier" points, don’t waste too much time trying to catch them.

Don’ts
- Chase someone forever unless you’re on a mount like the bear or owl. Too many times have I seen someone on an ape chase a low HP enemy around for minutes. If they’re melee, they’ll have to come back or else it'll be 5 v 4.
- Spam your skills randomly. Use your skills when the enemy uses their skill, so you actually land them.
- Play the same mount the entire time if it’s not working out. If no one on your team is staying near you and you’re playing Broot, then switch a mount. If all the enemies are playing fast/ranged mounts, don’t just keep playing Ape; you’ll never catch them.

Other Random Tips
- Someone on your team should start Broot during the preparation period and buff everyone with the All Res 20%, then swap to whatever mount they want to play.
- You’ll get a few seconds (or until you attack) of invulnerability when you enter the map. You’ll also continue to get healed to full when you enter the map. That means you don’t need to wait outside until full HP to warp.
- Use your party buffs! Eat your stingrays!
- Try to breed mounts for the hasty/rare variants for the bonus Move SPD.
- Sometimes it’s beneficial not to have someone targeted, so you can lead with certain skills. Either hit Esc or right click the ground 1-2 times to drop target.

Mounts [WIP]
Rule #1: Ignore the ranking. 5 star is not necessarily better than 1 star. The prime example of this is Eyedim Dragon, a 5 star attacker. It’s probably the most garbage thing in existence (okay maybe not, but it’s pretty bad). It’s slow, it’s weak, and it’s slow.
Support type mounts are the most balanced in terms of stats. They usually have some sort of CC, and can do lots of damage as well. They’re basically a bit of everything except healer. Everything else is similar to what the name implies.

Comments: General combo is to use 2 to dash through enemies, follow up with 3 to stun, and spam 1. The dash isn’t that great to chase people since it’s really easy to side step. It deals decent damage and you can also use 2 to dodge stuff (I believe it gives invulnerability frames). The mount is great for making people run, so it’s not bad to hunt down Baemons that are just standing and spamming.

Comments: My favorite mount so far. It deals decent AoE damage, fast activation on the damage for 2, and also has a chance to knock up with 2. It’s very good for proc’ing dragocites, so the benefits of this mount is great when you have a good dragocite setup. The only downsides are that the attacks are fairly close ranged and 1 has a really long animation. General game play is to just go in, use 2, see if it’s safe/effective to use 1, otherwise run out and repeat.

Comments: Run around spamming 2. The animations are a bit long, but it’s extremely effective when enemy is sticking close to each other. The attack will bounce back and forth between them, dealing tons of damage. 1 is only used if you need a quick kill on someone if they’re currently in skill animation.

Comments: General combo is using 2 followed by either 1 or 3 depending on the situation. In most situations, if there’s an ally near you, use 1. If not, use 3 for more damage. Don’t knock enemies away from your ally’s attack. Remember to use 4 when needed ie. Right before someone’s about to get hit by Ape Smash or Baemon starts casting, etc. Bear is really good for singling out an enemy and keeping them locked/unable to do damage, so you can just keep the strongest player on the other team out of the fight if you play properly.
