Lets kick the guide off!

(X01)
First off I want to show you what I am using, since I believe it to be the ideal items for a barbarian. (Jk I suck, only use it for temporary reference untill I get good at the game)

Lets start from the top left
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Necklace
Friendship amulet
Optional: Empyrean Embrace, Apollo's grasp or Dynastic Decree
The reason for this is not so much that the necklace is amazing, more so that the alternatives are bad. In the build I am going to show you, we are going to cap cdmg without any heroic trinkets so Apollo's Grasp isn't for me. If you prefer getting your cdmg from that, you can do that as well.

Empyrean Embrace is an excellent replacement for Friendship Amulet if you feel like you need the extra tanky stats. In my opinion, the tank Barbarian is plenty tanky and only needs extra DPS.

Try to carry a Dynastic Decree around if you have the bag space for +30% hydromon damage. In any Hydromon encounter, this will always be the superior choice of gear. If I am facing multiple dragomon and a few of them are Hydromon, I however preferFriendship Amulet

Ring
Diabolic whisper or Silvan Ring

Optional: Legendary Hunter Ring Winner's Symbol

This is hardly argueable. There is simply no ring better suited for Barbarian than Silvan/Dia, due to their huge HP scaling with... well, almost every stat. Carrying a Hunter ring in your bag for situational Aeromon encounters is always a good idea!

Winner's: 1% of hp as def. Only if you have trouble capping defence (around 3,1k at lv 50)

Back
Pteros' Derision (I use Glutton Cape because I'm cheap, psssh)

Optional: Nightwatch CloakJones' Passion or Icarus Cloak (If you are cheap like me)

This item is similar to the neck, we are only using it due to lack of alternatives. In this guide we'll be working with crit as our substat, hence Pteros' is still a very efficiency item.

Instead, lets look at our alternatives.
Icarus/Jones: These items are only for if you have trouble capping CDMG. This will not be an issue if you get the CDMG where I do, but feel free to put it in there.
Nightwatch: +30% insectomon dmg, only vs insectomon.

Trinkets
Sacred Fang (Permanent trinket), Type specific dragomon damage (Shadow Witc MaskDragonslayer's BlindfoldGiant's Malignant Eye

Optional: Guardian's goblet

Our ideal trinkets would 100% of the time be the ones you acquire from the Guild Battle boxes, however as I do not own any nor am familiar with any Paradox players with said trinkets, I will not include them.

With that out of the way, trinkets sucks. None of them are really any good for PvE unless if you swap everytime you face a new enemy.
I prefer to keep sacred fang as my permanent trinket, as it gives +250 atk and will always be useful.
As my situational trinket, I swap out with whatever type of damage I need.

Goblet: +8% def. Only use this if you can't cap defence or none of your type specific trinkets will work for what you're doing. It also scales with friendship amulet for a tiny atk boost.

Gear
(X03)
(Please disregard my pvp gear, I refined it to the point where it surpasses 130% draconic before I decided on PvE as my main focus. Changing to Primeval is currently ongoing.)

For this build we are going to use Plate Rather than leather
Plate will increase our overall tankiness with extra HP and dmg reduction. The HP comes in handy because of our Diabolic/silvan ring, as well as our hp scaling weapons and skills and since we're a melee damage dealer, we need to be able to survive long term combat.

As a consequence we lose damage output, but I don't believe that the lost damage is that severe and besides HP is way too valuable to give up on for a bit of crit and atk.

For your weapon you can either grab a Primeval as I choose to, or you can carry around a bunch of oranges with type specific dragomon damage. Either one work just as well! (Oranges have to all be at least 3 star to be efficient, this might end up more costy than a primeval if you have horrible luck)

Before jumping into dragocites, I'd recommend you try to get CDMG on most of them to get the remaining couple of % to reach the 200% cap! We'll go over where everything else comes from later. CDMG and HP should be your main focus when transforming dragocites.

Now with that out of the way, lets look at dragocites!
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi
Head

Falcon's Curative Dragocite

Optional: Shielded Styracosaur's Dragocite (If you don't have 21k falcon's rep)

This dragocite is pretty simple. You have a chance of healing for your damage dealt when you critical strike. Although Barbarians have a heal on their 3rd basic attacks, you are left unable to basic attack while spinning. This is where this dragocites comes into play. If you are forced to basic attack all day, your damage output is also severely reduced, so try to sustain without it!
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi
Chest

Primordiant's Dragocite

Optional: Falcon's Sentinel Dragocite / Torrkus Lustrous Dragocite

I personally highly prefer the primordiant's over anything and would rarely ever consider replacing it for said alternative. I only believe Torrkus' dragocite to be any good for pvp, but some people believe otherwise so I wanted to put it there.
I don't think -50% dmg taken for 10 seconds can be underrestimated in the slightest, hence this.

Waist

Crocosaur's dragocite

Optional: Toothy Ornithor's dragociteIcecrystal Snapper's Dragocite

Here we go again... I'm not gonna recommend any sort of CDMG + dragocite items, never!
Crocosaur gives +8% hp, which synergises with our equipment of choice as well as our skill points, I believe this to be the most efficient.
As for the alternatives, Toothy ornithor = +4% atk if you feel like you need a tiny buff for that stat. I wouldn't consider it since we don't have any sort of base atk in our build.
Other alternative is icecrystal which gives +8% crit. Crit is only our substat and we don't get a lot of it in our build. It's definitely an option but I'd say the worse one.

Hand

Stoneray's dragocite

Optional: Ancient Dragocite of Thunder , Ancient Dragocite of Wind , Goulet's Lustrous Dragocite

Stoneray's dragocite is by far the most superior, highest damage dragocite for your hands, greaves, gloves, w/e.
I would only ever consider changing this out if you have the battlefield outfit that mirror it's effect, in which case I'd pick any of the optional ones. Preferably battlefield ones for that +3% boss damage. Preferably cyclone. Preferably.

Feet

Ancient Dragocite of Bloodlust

Optional: Falcon's Extermination Dragocite

This one is pretty simple. The Falcon's dragocite adds atk when you crit, and the ancient adds more direct damage, which is better than attack, for a longer duration. Do you want more damage or less damage? If you have no battlefield fame, just go with the lesser.

Weapon

Type specific dragomon damage ( Falcon's Dragonsbane DragociteMothrake's dragociteFalcon's Beastbane Dragocite

Optional: Ancient Dragocite of Chaos

25%+ damage to an enemy is far superior to any proc you could ever find, hence type specific damage is what you want. In most cases, people prefer to stick with Drakemon and Aeromon damage since that's what the only "challenging" dungeons are atm (Lv 50 Tindersmoke Uplands and Lv 50 Prismoor Downs). If you want overall damage for the guild arena, trio's, etc or just can't be bothered to carry more around, grab the ancient dragocite from battlefield shop.

Outfits
(X04)
As a disclaimer, I'm really bad at this game when it comes to outfits. I have very little experience with valuable outfits so I can only say very little about them. We are not gonna take evolved outfits into consideration.
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi
Head

Dragon Slayer Headwear
Optional: Cosmic Headwear , Paladin Headwear

I would actually recommend dragon slayer > Cosmic, yes. Why is this?
For now the defence cap for PvE is ~3,1k, which means once you've hit this there's only 3 ways of becoming tankier
1. All res, quite difficult to get for plate mercenaries
2. dmg reduction, also a difficult stat to acquire in large quanities
3. Lower your enemies' attack
We get to lower our enemies' attack and we get extra hp. The +2% hp does way more for us than +3% attack, as hp gives us atk, hp and def, while atk only benefits our atk.
If you have a hard time capping your def, opt for Paladin. This is not recommended.

Chest

Bloodwing Outfit

Any outfit that gives +6% crit.

Again, no cosmic!? Cosmic gives us pen, our pen doesn't exist, waste of stats. Why Bloodwing? Everything about this outfit is why. +2% dmg is far superior to any attack buff. It buffs your total damage output. That means attack, crit and penetration is all accounted for in ONE STAT. All stats +1%. It's in the name, your everything gets better. Thank you Aeria.
-Looks closer- "Stoneray's dragocite"... -Googles- Best dragocite in the game... We already went through this. There's no cons to picking this outfit over any other. Even evolved ones aren't this good. Only cons is that for a barbarian it takes a century to get. Happy hunting!

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi
Costumes
(X05)
Lets just get this over with...
I don't believe most of this stuff to be argueable so I wont make a big deal out of it

Head: Max hp +3%
Face: Max hp +3%
Chest: Atk +2%
Weapon: CDMG +5% (Yaaaaay, CDMG items, finally!)
Back: Atk +2% (All res +3% is pretty decent as well if you prefer being tanky over the slight damage boost, only argueable stat imo)
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

That's it for all the equipment based items!

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi
Stat point allotment
(X06)
Each class gets a different value out of each stat point alloted. Mercenaries get the most out of their HP. If you stack HP, you simply get so many free stats and I can't emphasise this enough. Hp gives you attack, hp gives you defence and hp gives you hp. I will always recommend anyone playing barbarian to spec fully into HP and shove the rest of your points into crit.
WHY CRIT!? We get 25% free CDMG from our buffs, if we were to put the remaining points into attack, we would not be able to benefit from 80% of our buffs. We need a decent crit to be able to benefit from most of the barbarian's abilities, and a high amount of defensive stats to benefit from our damage and decreased, but slight mobility.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi
Skill point allotment
+1 this post if you came just for this :^)

These points are literally located here because I had no clue where else I would put them. You can take these points out of here and put them elsewhere.

This is your one and all. Your main dps. The fruits of your labor. YOU GET 3,5% OF YOUR HP AS ATK. Talk about free stats, huh? GOOD THING WE BUILT HP HUH!?.
Oh and crit. Without crit your build wont work. Get crit
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

This is the most argueable skill your character has. Your only goal is to reach the defence cap and not go any higher. The cap lies around 3,1k and is easily obtained with 1 point. If you spec more than 1 point, you start to lose efficiency. Lets math.
1 star = 100 points = you get 1% of your hp as def.
2 star = 400 points = you get 1,5% of your hp as def.
That's an increase of 0,5%. Any additional investment in this skill subsequently to the first star will only add 0,5%. Try to cap your defence with only 1 star for maximum efficiency!
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Alright we got plate... Crocosaur's dragocite... hp outfits... But something is missing...
OH LOOK MORE HP AAAAHD KJBASJDSAKDBSAKBDKASB
Yes. This is more HP. Oh and cooldown reduction to your main skill, allowing you to use it almost permanently. Thanks Aeria!
Hand-Eye Coordination gives you movement speed and -4% dmg taken while spinning. These are both amazing stats, but if you feel like you need the points elsewhere, feel free to remove them.
IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

We need crit to make our build work. Quite a bit of it. We get crit here, yay. And cooldown reduction on a nice skill.

Leaving these here for future guide writing~
